AUO October 2004 Consolidated Revenues Totaled NT$12.8 Billion

AUO Corporation ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today announced preliminary consolidated net sales of NT$12,825 million and unconsolidated net sales of NT$12,767 million for the month of October 2004.

Unit shipments of large-sized panels for applications such as desktop monitor, notebook, and LCD TV, reached a record high of 1.7 million, a 7.2% increase over September. Shipments of small- and medium-sized panels began a seasonal decline in October, decreasing by 15.7% from September to 3.7 million.

Unaudited consolidated revenues for the month of October decreased slightly by 0.8% M-o-M, while unconsolidated net sales posted a moderate decline of 1.1% from September. On a year-over-year basis, consolidated and unconsolidated net sales rose 15.4% and 23.2%, respectively. Revenues for January through October totaled NT$141.4 billion, representing an increase of 73.3% from the previous year.
