AUO April 2004 Consolidated Revenues Totaled NT$16 Billion

    Published date:2004-05-10

    Hsinchu, Taiwan

AUO Corporation ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today announced unaudited consolidated net sales of NT$16,007 million and unaudited unconsolidated net sales of NT$15,848 million for the month of April 2004.

    ?

Despite the power outage incident, caused by the tripped circuits of Taipower in April, large-size TFT-LCD panel shipments, inclusive of panels for desktop monitor, notebook, LCD TV, and other applications, reached 1.56 million, up 6.5% sequentially. The solid M-o-M shipment growth and the 14th straight month of record large panel shipment are primarily contributed by additional output from AUO's second Gen. 5 production facility (Fab L8B). Unit shipment for small and medium size panels in April 2004 continued to improve, up 12.8% from March 2004 to 2.2 million units.

    ?

Consolidated revenues rose 6% M-o-M and 110.2% Y-o-Y, while unconsolidated net sales increased 13.8% and 123.5%, M-o-M and Y-o-Y, respectively.
