    AUO Corporation September 2003 Sales Reached NT$10.5 billion

    AUO Corporation ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO), a world's leading supplier in TFT-LCD panels, today announced a new record month for consolidated net sales and shipment in September 2003. Consolidated net sales revenue in September 2003 reached historical high of NT$10,503 million, the fifth consecutive record month, while unconsolidated net sales totaled NT$9,761 million.

    Contributed by the smooth ramp-up process of the Company' new Gen. 5 production facility, AUO's large size panel shipment (incl. LCD TV panels) in September marked the 7th consecutive monthly highs to 1.11 million. In addition, unit shipment for small & medium size panels reached the 3-million milestone to ship 3.07 million in September, setting the sixth straight month of record highs. For the third quarter of 2003, over 3.1 million large size panels were shipped, representing a 12.5% growth over second quarter, while more than 7.6 million small and medium size panel shipment was recorded, achieving a robust 61.3% Q-o-Q growth.

    Consolidated revenue rose 13.3% from August to September, while consolidated revenues for the third quarter of 2003 increased 19.0% Q-o-Q to NT$28,381 million. For the first nine months of 2003, accumulated consolidated and unconsolidated net sales totaled NT$70,491 million and NT$65,527 million, respectively.
